Anemigenic effect of the low-molecular peptides of the calf spleen on the rat erythron was revealed, the effect being related either to activation of the mononuclear phagocyte system or alteration of the erythrocyte membrane. Mechanisms of humoral spleen regulation of intracellular hemolysis are discussed.
