[Combined lateral approach for removal of tumors involving skull base]

Involvement of tumor in the skull base area needs combined approaches for complete removal in some cases. The author reports a combination of infratemporal, supralabyrinthine, translabyrinthine and lateral cervical approaches in 8 cases with benign and malignant tumors involving the skull base from 1989 through 1991. No recurrence was found after 1-2.5 years' followup.
