Unlabelled:
114 cases of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) encountered in Changchun were studied by immunohistochemistry and classified according to the Working Formulation (WF).
Results:
B cell type 93 cases (81.6%), of which the largest number being the diffuse large non cleaved type (44 cases, 38.6%) and the smallest number being the small lymphocytic type (3 cases, 2.6%). T cell type 21 cases (18.4%), of which 10 cases were of the lymphoblastic type. 54.4% of the primary sites being nodal, with cervical nodes having the highest incidence followed by mesenteric nodes and posterior peritoneal nodes. The remainder, 45.6%, being extranodal, the intestine was the most frequent site followed by the stomach. Malignant grade, intermediate grade formed the largest group (71.9%), high grade the next largest (18.4%) and low grade the smallest (9.7%). Age distribution was bimodal, with the highest peak in the age group of 20-29 years, the second peak in the age-group of 40-59 years, and the overall mean age was 39.3 years. Male to female ratio was 2.9:1.
