Abstract:
The prognostic factors in ovarian carcinoma can be linked to the surgical procedure and depend on histological type and pathological grading. This is an essential prognostic factor and unfortunately it lacks standardization. Being able to re-read slides is essential in evaluating therapeutic trials. Other factors are inherent to the surgical procedure itself: staging enables precise FIGO classification and large cyto-reductive surgery. Under evaluation in the early stages is estimated at 30% and extended visceral resection is justified in advanced carcinoma.
