[Use of the milk ring test in herd samples (author's transl)]

Abstract:
Performing the milk ring test in herd samples from herds of approximately twenty dairy cows is an acceptable method in checking herds for brucellosis. Herds of approximately forty dairy cows or more are unsuited for this method of checking. For the above reasons, it is essential that the compulsory examination of the blood of aborting cows should be consistently carried out and that the larger herds in the threatened areas should be examined by performing the milk ring test in individual samples at regular intervals.
