Abstract:
Introduction of skill mix in school nursing services has tended to lag behind health visiting and district nursing, where its implementation has met with very mixed responses. Elizabeth Lochhead describes a skill mix review in the East Dorset school nursing service which introduced nursery nurses to work alongside school nursing sisters in providing a health assessment and health promotion service to local schools.
