  • Intractable or prolonged BPPV requires effective treatment options.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy and safety of singular neurectomy for intractable BPPV.

Main Methods:

  • Singular neurectomy was performed on 7 patients with incapacitating BPPV.
  • Patient outcomes regarding vertigo resolution and hearing function were assessed.

Main Results:

  • Six out of 7 patients achieved complete resolution of vertigo.
  • One patient experienced severe sensorineural hearing loss.
  • One patient had mild-to-moderate sensorineural hearing loss.

Conclusions:

  • Singular neurectomy is a viable and effective treatment for severe BPPV.
  • Potential hearing loss is a risk that requires consideration.
