Abstract:
Cluster seizures and status epilepticus may look similar but are to be treated differently. They have a totally different prognosis. During cluster seizures the daily dose of anti-convulsants is temporarily increased. Status epilepticus is treated with intravenous or rectal administration of diazepam combined with intramuscular or intravenous administration of phenobarbital. Two dogs with atypical status epilepticus are described.
