Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare the debonding strength of orthodontic brackets bonded with cotton roll versus rubber dam isolation.
  • To determine the location of bond failure in relation to the isolation method and tooth surface.

Main Methods:

  • Forty-four premolars were bonded in vivo using either cotton roll or rubber dam isolation.
  • Teeth were retained for at least 30 days before extraction and debonding.
  • Shear force was applied using a Universal Instron Machine at a rate of 0.1 cm/min.
