Summary

Single fiber electromyography (SFEMG) is more sensitive than repetitive nerve stimulation (RNS) for diagnosing myasthenia gravis (MG). SFEMG showed higher diagnostic accuracy, particularly in ocular myasthenia gravis cases.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare the diagnostic sensitivity of single fiber electromyography (SFEMG) and repetitive nerve stimulation (RNS) in patients with myasthenia gravis (MG).

  • Forty-three patients diagnosed with myasthenia gravis were included in the study.
  • Sensitivity of SFEMG and RNS tests were evaluated for MG diagnosis.
