    Background:

    Observation:

    • A patient presented with transient bilateral visual field loss, resolving after SMT.
    • Subsequent quantitative static perimetry revealed a persistent uniocular visual defect.
    • No ocular or neurological pathology explained the visual defect, suggesting optic nerve microischemia.

    Findings:

    • The uniocular scotoma (visual field defect) resolved immediately with SMT.
    • The visual defect recurred twice, each time resolving promptly with SMT.
    • This suggests SMT can influence cerebral microcirculation.

    Implications:

    • SMT may alleviate microvascular spasms in cerebral arteries, even those not directly linked to the spine.
    • Interictal migraine, associated with prolonged cerebral microcirculation changes, is a potential target for SMT.
    • This case highlights SMT as a potential treatment for certain types of visual disturbances and migraine-related phenomena.
