The role of activity in adolescent development: a study of employment
1School of Justice Studies, Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
Abstract:
Adolescent work values have historically been studied within the adult work value framework. This paper explores the notion that adolescence is a developmental stage, and therefore adolescent work values should be seen within this context. Such a developmental approach is found to be useful in reconciling some of the discrepancies in the literature on adolescent work values. In addition, two variables that may help explain the development of adolescent work values: activity and time perspective, are discussed.
