Abstract:
The most common causes of viral hepatitis, both in the United States and worldwide, are the hepatitis A, hepatitis B and hepatitis C viruses. The similarities and differences of these viral forms provide a basis for developing strategies to prevent the spread of viral hepatitis. Preventive strategies include preexposure and postexposure prophylaxis and universal immunization of all infants against hepatitis B.
