1. Children need to be prepared for a terminally ill parent's death. 2. They should be separated from the family for as little as possible. 3. Children who have been through this experience valued being included in the care and given information in a way that could be understood. 4. Carers who can rely on support and know how to get in touch with health professionals feel more confident about handling the children's uncertainties about the situation.
