[N.N. Petrov--founder of experimental study of carcinogenesis in primates]

In his personal recollections the author described N.N. Petrov's stay and investigations conducted in the monkey nursery of Medico-Biological Station of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences in Sukhumi, the priority of N.N. Petrov and his collaborators, who first induced malignant tumors in monkeys, being emphasized. The studies carried out further in this laboratory are reported, which by means of different carcinogenic agents enabled the researchers to obtain a number of tumors of various localization and morphological structure in Primates.
