Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the efficacy of dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI with gadopentetate dimeglumine for evaluating the abdominal aorta and its branches.
  • To determine the diagnostic accuracy of this technique for detecting stenoses and occlusions.

  • Sixteen patients underwent dynamic three-dimensional Fourier transform MRI after a 5-minute injection of gadopentetate dimeglumine.
  • Imaging focused on the arterial phase to achieve preferential arterial enhancement.
  • Results were correlated with angiography and/or surgical findings in six patients.

  • No significant artifacts were noted, suggesting its reliability in clinical practice.
