Abstract:
A positive correlation has been found to exist between the percentage of basophiles and the histamine content in a suspension of washed human leukocytes obtained from allergic and healthy donors. The mean value of histamine per basophile was 1,9 +/- 0,3 pg. The leukocyte histamine content was measured as a function of time in a non-allergic person and during the desensitization period of allergic patients.
