Abstract:
We performed success fully CT-guided stereotactic biopsies in 21 patients with deep-seated lesions of brain. At the time of biopsy, evacuations and drainages of cystic tumours and grafts of embryo brain tissue into basal ganglion area were practiced. It is suggested that CT-guided stereotactic biopsy should be done in those patients who are of clinical diagnosis, whose lesions in important functional area and who had poor prognosis of operation or who are tolerance to craniotomy. The tissue of brain lesion can be obtained to define diagnosis, direct treatment and evaluate prognosis. Some measures of the treatment can be taken at the time of biopsy.
