Summary

Ethanol exposure in vitro increases the function of both stimulatory GTP-binding protein (Gs alpha) and inhibitory GTP-binding protein (Gi alpha) in human brain cortex membranes. This suggests ethanol impacts multiple signaling pathways in the brain.
