Abstract:
A cleanup procedure is described for the determination of sulfamethazine in milk. The residue is diazotized and coupled with 1-naphthol. The diazotized sulfamethazine (SMZ) is accumulated on a mercury electrode by electrochemical adsorption and is then stripped cathodically. This method determines SMZ quantitatively at low parts-per-billion levels.
