Summary

Background:

CDw50 differentiation antigen is broadly expressed on hematopoetic cells.
Previous studies indicated CDw50 monoclonal antibodies (mAb) inhibit primary mixed lymphocyte culture (MLC).
Intercellular adhesion molecule-3 (ICAM-3), a ligand for lymphocyte function-associated molecule 1, was recently identified.

Purpose of the Study:

To elucidate the function of CDw50 in immune responses.
To determine the relationship between CDw50 and ICAM-3.

Main Methods:

Purification of CDw50 and peptide sequencing.
Immunochemical analysis.
Functional studies of CDw50 and ICAM-3.
cDNA cloning of ICAM-3.
