Some current issues for health visiting

Michael Traynor argues that recent legislation with its emphasis not only on targeted, measurable and effective service but also on the importance of health promotion offers exciting opportunities for health visiting. But to take advantage of these, health visitors will need to become familiar with the growing body of research into the evaluation of health visitors' preventive, supportive and health promotion roles.
