[Practice of delayed autologous transfusion in Saint-Louis (Senegal)]

In Saint-Louis' Regional Hospital, transfusional risks and blood shortage led us to introduce the delayed autologous transfusion despite a great number of difficulties. Our study aimed at finding the most adapted technique to the conditions in an African peripheral hospital, and lasted four months (from April to July 1992). In this paper, our first results are given that encourage us to continue in this way.
