The plight of caregivers

The prospect of becoming a primary caregiver is of growing concern for everyone because of the increase in the aging population. The demands of caregiving place caregivers at risk for becoming ill themselves. Nurses are vital in keeping care recipients and their caregivers healthy. This article examines the problems confronting caregivers and suggests means of coping with the additional and unanticipated responsibilities.
