Summary

This case report details an unusual and prolonged Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) presentation in a child, highlighting severe gastrointestinal vasculitis, pancreatic and gallbladder involvement, and unexpected urolithiasis. High-frequency intestinal ultrasonography proved valuable in monitoring the extensive gastrointestinal complications.

Background:

Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) is a common childhood vasculitis, typically presenting with rash, arthritis, abdominal pain, and nephritis.
Unusual and prolonged presentations of HSP, particularly with severe gastrointestinal complications and extradigestive findings, are less commonly reported.
