Abstract:

The complete cDNA sequence for mitogen-activated protein kinase activator from rat brain was cloned. It encodes a protein kinase of 393 amino acids with a calculated M(r) of 43,465.

Mitogen-activated protein kinase, or MAPK pathway, activates three sequential kinases to regulate cellular responses such as proliferation, differentiation, survival, and apoptosis.
