The neurologic workup by the primary care physician

The family physician can and should manage many neurologic problems. A satisfactory neurologic examination also requires a thorough general assessment of the patient's health. The history usually points up the likely diagnosis, while the examination pin-points the lesion. The workup should include routine studies and, when indicated, more specialized diagnostic procedures.
