Abstract:
Congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation (CCAM) is an infrequently seen abnormality. The pathology of the various types has been well described, but the pathogenesis of the defect is less clear. A review of the literature revealed a lack of nursing information relevant to the disease itself. This article presents a review of the pathophysiology of CCAM, medical management, and differential diagnosis in addition to the intricate care involved in nursing an infant with this defect.
