Summary

Radiotherapy up to 10 Gy rapidly reduces tumor size by inducing apoptosis, or programmed cell death. This programmed cell death was observed in both lymphoma and carcinoma cases, suggesting a broad role for radiation-induced apoptosis in cancer treatment.
