Abstract:
1. Contracting will reduce high-risk precaution incidents. 2. Children are capable of understanding, writing, and adhering to contracting procedures. 3. Contracting performed according to established procedures that use specified criteria for advancement is effective. 4. Nurses should listen carefully and critically examine the child's statements, avoiding making inferences about the child's intentions.
