Temporalis haemangioma presenting as temporomandibular joint pain dysfunction syndrome

Pathology within the infratemporal and temporal fossa is notoriously difficult to diagnose. A rare case of a haemangioma within the temporalis muscle, originally diagnosed as temporomandibular joint dysfunction, illustrates the difficulty of recognising disease within this region when clinical signs are minimal.
