Abstract:
Solar ultraviolet radiation produces profound changes in human skin. Acute exposure results in inflammatory erythema, injury-response pigmentation, and immunologic alterations. Chronic exposure is responsible for deleterious changes in cutaneous structure and function as well as for neogenesis of the most common human malignancies.
