Abstract:
According to epidemiological data pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis even today represents a significant socio-medical problem. Tongue tuberculosis is rare and has been described in single cases only. In our clinic a patient suffering from tongue tuberculosis and hematogenously spreading chronic pulmonary tuberculosis was treated for the first time. The diagnosis was made by means of biopsy and pathohistological examination. The tongue lesions on account of rich vascularisation reacted very quickly to the antituberculous therapy, and the pulmonary alterations regressed considerably so that the patient could be dismissed to policlinical treatment.
