Background:

The period from 1981 to the present has demonstrated a consistent rise in Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) cases among women.
This epidemiological shift has led to a corresponding increase in AIDS diagnoses during pregnancy.

Purpose of the Study:

To highlight the growing importance of obstetricians' awareness regarding the impact of AIDS on pregnancy.
To underscore the reciprocal effects of pregnancy on the progression and management of AIDS.

Main Methods:

Literature review on epidemiological trends of AIDS in women.
Analysis of clinical case studies and obstetric outcomes in pregnant individuals with AIDS.
Review of current medical guidelines for managing AIDS in pregnancy.

Main Results:

Significant increase in AIDS incidence in the female population since 1981.
Elevated risk of vertical transmission and adverse pregnancy outcomes in mothers with AIDS.
Potential for pregnancy to influence the course of HIV/AIDS.

Conclusions:
