Ribavirin effect on pulmonary function in young infants with respiratory syncytial virus bronchiolitis

Ribavirin did not improve pulmonary function in infants with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) bronchiolitis. While compliance increased significantly with ribavirin by Day 7, this did not translate to improved lung function.

- Further research may be needed to elucidate the mechanisms behind any observed clinical benefits of ribavirin in RSV bronchiolitis.
