Background:

  • Agrobacterium radiobacter is an emerging pathogen causing human infections.
  • Previous literature documented significant disease cases, with increasing reports over the last decade.

Observation:

  • Three new cases of bacteremia due to Agrobacterium radiobacter were observed.
  • A review of 19 previously reported significant disease cases was conducted.

Findings:

  • Bacteremia was the primary manifestation in over half of the cases, frequently associated with intravascular catheters.
  • Other reported syndromes include peritonitis, urinary tract infections, and endocarditis.
  • Infections are strongly associated with indwelling plastic foreign materials.
