Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the association between Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) antigen profiles and psoriasis in an Irish population.

  • Histocompatibility antigen typing was performed on 93 unrelated Irish patients diagnosed with psoriasis.
  • HLA profiles of psoriatic patients were compared to those of 253 healthy unrelated Irish controls.
  • Statistical analysis was used to identify significant differences in HLA allele frequencies and calculate relative risks.
