Area of Science:

  • Gastroenterology
  • Radiology
  • Thoracic Surgery

Background:

  • Morgagni's hernia is a rare type of diaphragmatic hernia, accounting for approximately 3% of all cases.
  • Diagnosis can be challenging, especially when the hernia contains only omentum, often presenting as an abnormal shadow on chest roentgenograms.
  • Symptoms may include respiratory or gastrointestinal complaints such as chest pain or vomiting.
