Violence. Protect and survive

Health visitors and other nurses working; often alone, in the community are particularly vulnerable to attack. Health service employers have a legal responsibility to protect the health and safety of employees at work. HVA health and safety representatives and/or local accredited representatives should ensure that employers have agreed procedures for protecting staff as far as possible from risk of violent attack and for reporting and following up violent incidents.
