Abstract:
Clinical reasoning of the critical care nurse is enhanced by use of the "PQRST" Mnemonic in differentiating cues related to emerging patterns of chest pain. The subjective expression of chest pain can vary depending on one's cultural background. Nurses who become aware of their own cultural beliefs and values are more sensitive to the cultural influences in patients' responses.
