Abstract:
In his introduction to a study day, entitled 'Work Injuries--New Law, Old Habits'. Phil Gray, labour relations director of the RCN, described the background of the potentially alarming rise in reported back injury amongst nurses--1.5 million days per year are lost for this reason. In 1991 an RCN survey found back injury to be an ongoing problem, with a lack of training, assessment or proper care.
