1Orthodontic Department Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.
Abstract:
Marked facial asymmetry caused by unilateral enlargement of hard and soft tissues is the criterion for a diagnosis of hemifacial hypertrophy. A case report of a Thai woman with congenital hemifacial hypertrophy is presented. Orthodontic treatment and intraoral vertical ramus osteotomies were performed after growth ceased. Acceptable facial appearance and occlusion were achieved.
