Explanation of isogyre formation by the eye lens
Abstract:
The eye lens is considered to be birefringent and this property is thought to be responsible for the image of a cross which is formed within the lens when it is placed between crossed polarizers. This paper presents an alternative explanation for the pattern, as a phenomenon of refraction.
