A flexible path to permanent change. Implementing standard setting in an intensive therapy unit

Nurses working in an intensive therapy unit decided to implement a standard designed to produce long-term benefits in patient care. A standard was devised which reflected the needs and views of all members of the nursing team, as this was perceived as the best way of ensuring genuine change.
