1University of California, Los Angeles.
Abstract:
Sclerotherapy, which uses injectable sclerosants to obliterate varicose and spider veins without surgery, is a relatively simple procedure that can easily be added to an existing practice. This article summarizes the basic requirements for the incorporation of this technique including educational resources, emergency equipment, precautions, documentation, technique, and a comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of commonly used sclerosants.
