Abstract:
A case of a Nigerian full-term infant with complete anomalous pulmonary venous drainage into the coronary sinus is described. Presentation was from birth but the cardiac defect was clinically suspected at the age of 51 hours. Diagnosis was confirmed by two-dimensional echocardiography and cardiac catheterization. Despite a high operative mortality associated with this condition, the infant had a remarkably smooth post operative course and an excellent result from his repair on the 5th day of his life.
