High blood pressure--current state of play

Blood pressure is well recognised and well treated in Australia; nevertheless, a number of problem areas still exist. The author looks at the management of hypertension in the elderly, factors affecting choice of drug and the place of cost-benefit analysis in choosing a drug for treatment of hypertension.
