Summary

Monitoring skin temperature during exercise is a sensitive indicator of impaired cardiac output in patients with heart disease. Abnormal peripheral temperature changes can detect exercise-induced ventricular dysfunction.

  • Studied central and skin temperature changes during a modified Bruce protocol in 10 normal volunteers and 8 patients with ischemic heart disease.
