For the surgical treatment of chronic pancreatitis the surgeon has to make a choice between pancreatic resection, drainage procedure, biliary-tract surgery and operations on the vegetative nervous system. In the predominant number of these cases, resection should be considered as the treatment of choice in the management of subjective complaints of patients and the removal of the lesion.
