Living together in Great Britain--displaying household structure through demographic pyramids

Population pyramids are a demographic technique which can be used to represent the age and sex structure of a population. This article illustrates how the technique can be used to represent the age and sex distribution of co-resident members of households. The pyramids use data from the 1% household file of the Samples of Anonymised Records from the 1991 Census of Great Britain. Some comparisons are made with Spanish households.
